Skammdegisblóm — Darkbloom 2025
In this series, darkness and light meet along with the passion of a golden pepper.
These paintings were painted through the Icelandic midwinter of 2025, when the days are extremely short in Reykjavík and the mind grows heavy, made while I was finding my way through depression, looking for beauty in the dark I turned to black Irises.
At the heart of each flower sits a black chilli pepper with a golden gleam. Not as an ornament, but a sign for the hope that slips in when everything seems dark, and for the fire that stays lit in a person even in the darkest of times.
Exhibion at Gallerí Fold, april-may 2026.
